Default Idle issues when downshifting or coming to a stop but doesn't die

I have about 60K on my jeep. I drive 80mi to work and home every day. My jeep is now acting as though it will stall but doesn't just idles very shabby. At first I thought it was the clutch but that was ruled out. I have read the idle control could play a role except mine is a module and its not clear if you have to replace the whole part, which is usually around $200 or just a component, not sure how to do that tho. I clean it however as mentioned by others but no improvement. I am at a loss overall and my gas mileage has been cut in half.

No codes at all which makes this even more complicated to resolve.

When was the last time you check the spark plugs? Might need to change them. As for the gas mileage going down you may have a clogged air filter.

As cheesy as it sounds have you checked your tire pressure? I know when my tires are low my mileage suffers.

Lastly have you been wheeling lately and been off camber for a long period? I had this issue about two months ago with my gas gage nor reading properly. It was due to being off camber the whole day. And when I say off camber I mean SWMBO is looking at the ground out her side window.

Interested in knowing what the rough idle is and what the fix is.

If it idles rough, but runs fine otherwise, start by cleaning the throttle body and idle air control valve. If you can't clean the idle air control valve, just replace it. Maybe run some seafoam through the tank as well.

Another option is Berryman's B-12 with supreme gas. since you commute 80 miles round trip you can burn the tank rather quickly.

It just idles rough. Basically once it drops to about 600 it pudders then it levels out.

If it idles rough but once you touch the gas it clears up that is usualy the IAC but since you have electronic throttle body it is all controled by that. We had a guy with a similar issues a few months ago it turned out he had to replace the thottle body and it went away.

I will do some looking to see if I can find this at a good price.

I appreciate the help on this as well.
