Stock JK Tech Bulletin board forum regarding issues with OE (original equipment) components of the Jeep JK Wrangler (Rubicon, Sahara, Unlimited and X) such as factory suspension parts, engine, transmission, body parts, interior fixtures and the on-board computer.

I'm not even mad, but an upgrade may be needed.

Jeep is fun, but when I feel the need for speed, I park the JK...

Ive had a bunch of sports/muscle cars and they are awesome to look at sitting in the garage. They are fun to drive on a track, but not really useable on the street. A jeep is the opposite, not good on a track but fun on the street and more fun offroad.
I have always sold sports cars and not really regretted it. Whenever i have sold a wrangler i have always ended up regretting it. It sounds like u have a lemon, i think you should trade the 12 jk for a 14jk and forget the porche

I have very little to add to this thread other than I have driven plenty of Porsches Ferraris and lambos and there is no way in hell I would ever own one as an only vehicle, even the Porsche panamera would be a pain in the ass to drive everyday and it is supposed to be a every day car lol. The jeep is 10x as practical and so much cheaper to maintain it's a no brainer to me.

Well now I'm mad boys and girls. I was driving to CT and stopped for gas. Filled up, got on the highway, and she started acting funny. It was burping and not delivering power. I hit the first exit, got to the bottom of the ramp and she just turned off on me. She wouldn't restart, when I turned the key over she would just sound like it was trying to start but it never tuned over. Got a tow to a dealership near my destination and she is sitting there waiting for Monday when the service department comes in.

Does this sound like a bad gas issue or could it be related to the left head needing replacement? Both? Something completely different?

Frustration city over here.

ive had a LOT of cars and jeeps over the years.. one thing ive learned.. is that if there's an engine issue with a head big enough that a dealer is going to warranty it a second time.. I sure as heck Park it... bad engine parts can go very wrong in so many ways..

if something happens to it esp now that you know and have been diagnosed with an issue to the left head if you continued to drive it and blew the engine.. chrylser would definitely turn it around on you...

in regards to trade vlaue there is no leverage either way because the repair in question is a warranty repair covered by chrysler.. the dealer sends the bill to chrysler..

no out of pocket for you and no out of pocket for them..

where dealers gain leverage on trade is when a costly repair hits a customer that doesnt have the cash to pay for it.. so the sales guys swoop in, offer a low-ball trade, gets the cash-poor customer into a new car.. then they fix the broken car at Cost (no markup.. maybe even used parts that they cant put on a customer;s car).. and to the used lot it goes with a sign "rebuilt engine..."

the customer never has a leg up on trade value unless we are talking a fairly high mileage well taken care of car that has a new engine.. MAYBE you get a few hundred bucks more on trade than otherwise... if that..

I had a ball, driving this Ferrari 458 along a week, at up to 197 mph.

On the way back home, I wondered how it will feel to drive my Jeep again. Yeah, I love it, but wouldn't it be too sluggish to enjoy driving?
After a week in a super car, my jeep felt like being in my element.

I wouldn't object driving impressive cars, but when I enter my own, I'd rather be in a Jeep, be it on or off road.

Oh that 'Rari looks fun.

I think I am going to go with a 2015 JKURHR or what ever the Hard Rocks are going by. When I go to the Jeep website, they only have info on the 14s and nothing on the 15s yet which seems odd. Anyone know of a website that I can search for new 15s that are in stock? I don't want to build one and then wait a while for it, only to have something else happen in the meantime.

Yes, the 458 was fun, in fact more than fun. I had driven a Lamborghini Gallardo, for instance.
The 458 does everything the Lambo does, similar performance, but gives a more refined feel, be it on highways, a race track, or on city or village roads. There's that 'something extra' that a Ferrari has, from handling feel to looks, which, IMO, puts them on a league of their own.

But, this is a Jeep forum...
Got curious, and Googled for - 'jeep rubicon 2015 price'
On this link, for example, they seem to offer stock Rubicons --
