Question Infinity sound system intermittent output

G'day I have had my jeep now for 1 week and the sound system is aleady giving me grief.
I noticed today when fading to rear that the right hand soundbar speaker has intermittent sound output.
With balance to right there is a crackling or humming sound only .
Does this mean the Indash unit is suspect or something less sinister.
Thanks for any suggestions

I would take it in to the dealer and let them worry about it.

Yeah I think so too , its just that the dealer is 450 kms away. I might wait for a while to see if anything else goes wrong and build a list for them.

i was going to say, western australia....how many days did you have to walk to the dealer to get your rig?

check the input and output on the amp, make sure the things that should be making contact are, and things that shouldn't aren't, then do the same for the speakers. if your problem doesn't lie there, start your dealer list...

Thanks for your input Degenerate. Yes it was a fair stroll to Perth to pick up my jeep , a bit more than just a cut lunch and a waterbag but hopefully worth it.
I have tried swapping the speakers but that did'nt fix it, also checked plugs on back of cd player and amp ( by feel only ).
I will have a better look at the back of the amp for what should and shoud'nt be as you said .
Love this Forum thing hope I can eventually add something worth while to it. Thanks again Degenerate.

just glad i could help. besides, aussies are some of my favorite people. i meet them everywhere i go. i even have a close friend that lives in perth.

it really does sound like something is loose and not making contact occasionally (i.e., a ground was my culprit a couple years ago), or if your positives and negatives are touching, they'll cut out for a bit.

Hey Degenerate hows things , yes I tracked it to the 12 pin plug on the back of the Amp. The pins dont seem to make good contact . Tried bending tags in the plug for better contact but just caused other problems.
Going to try and solder the wires directly to the pins on the back of the amp , a bit tricky but should fix it.

All the best mate and thanks for the follow up.
