Default Interesting Issue. Need ideas!

2012 Wrangler Sport Unlimited. Transmission shifts fine up and down but every so often in the 1500 to 2500rpm range when applying more throttle to downshift vehicle bucks hard for a split second and makes a loud clunk before shifting down. Also during this time no matter how much throttle you give it the rpms stay the same for 4 to 5 seconds before returning to normal. This may not be a transmission issue at all but I'm out of ideas. No codes are being thrown, no lights are on. Just replaced the oil cooler and filter housing and the oil pump sensor thinking this was the issue but it didn't go away.

I'm not a transmission expert at all, but the first thing that comes to my mind would be torque converter related.

Not that this is an apples to apples vehicle comparison, had the same type of issue with my 2013 GMC Acadia and it was resolved with replacing the Torque Converter.

maybe getting a tune would help clean up the shift points, got mine for about $450. Personally I have a 6 speed but friends with autos said tuning helped, and increased smiles per gallon
