On my 2007 4 Door JK, my rear interoir light stays on now, even while driving. This just started yesterday, and I have to leave it on until it turns off after 15-20 minutes after turning the jeep off. I checked all the doors, and they're all closed, and when they close, the front light dims like it should, but the rear one stays on. Any ideas on what the problem could be? I dont see any switches or anything else, so i'm guessing its more of a sensor/electrical problem that the dealer needs to fix, but I thought i'd ask first. Thanks!

I'm guessin all the doors are plugged in, since the light dims when closed.
Did you check on the hi beam lever to make sure the interior light wasn't on there, the dimmer lever... but it wouldn't go out on its own after a few minutes ... hmmm.
Sounds like one of the doors isn't plugged in, but you checked that.
I'm lost.

 

have you tried to push on the light to turn it off, the light is the switch..i thought i had a issue when i first got my jeep, but turned out bumped it when i was loading camping gear.

 

x2 on that. it'll go out by itself because the computer will cut the power to keep from draining the battery. but yeah, i'd make sure to tap it and turn it off.

 

x3, mine started staying on one day last year and I was trying to figure out what had happened. I hit the light when throwing a pair of shoes over the rear seats. Took me a few minute to figure it out because I never realized the light was a switch.

x5. My friend found out when he hit it with his hand. I wasn't paying attention, and he left it on to scare me into thinking there was a short...

But it happened to me last week; kids will make you lose your mind.

 

X7... Its also in the owners manual. Push the whole light assembly to turn ON push again to turn OFF.

 

My daughter figured out last week that if she turns on the rear light it makes "rainbows on the roof"... I may have to see if I can swap it out with the front one so that she can't turn it on by herself any more!
