Default Intermediate Shaft 2 door JK

So had the 'clicking' sound on my steering rack for the last month. First time I brought it in they said it was the tilt steering lever...said it was loose.. try driving with it loose, very dangerous

I knew it wasn't that. Problem is, the only time it does it is after driving for like 30 mins.. heats up and then clunk clunk as you move it side to side.

They finally found it today and said its the "intermediate shaft" between the gear box and the column. They are replacing it under warranty. I'll keep you all posted to see if it fixes the problem.. I think there were others with a similar problem.

Thx

I have read on other post about this problem. I have the same issue. I tried the lube in the boot. Some people take the boot off an lube and some use a small cut to put the lube in. I use a needle like what a doc uses and injected into the boot with a big gauge needle. I worked it in as much as I could and nothing. It still makes the noise. Mine dose it all the time no matter the temp. After messing with it for a while I noticed that the noise isn't coming from the shaft it coming from inside the gear box. If you grab the shaft (LOL not in gay way) and turn it left and right a lot you will feel and hear it coming from the gear box.

Try that and see if you have the same issue. If you find out anything let me know.
