Default Intermittent Wipers?

I have a 2007 Rubicon that has developed a problem with the intermittent settings for the wipers. In the intermittent setting (low and high work fine) they sometimes stay on all the time or the .pause between wiper intervals is quite long (too long). My question is dose the problem lies in the switch itself or in the wiper motor? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Mine does the same.....very aggravating. Someone mentioned"
Electrical gremlins" associated with a bad battery .. I have not checked into it yet...

The problem could be dirty "park switch" contacts in the motor. If the computer can't see when the wipers are in the park position, (at the end of each delayed swipe), it doesn't know exactly when to send the next pulse to run the motor again.

Someone did a write-up on how to clean the contacts. It involves removal and dis-assembly of the wiper motor.
