So I just got a 2016 JKU as a certified pre-owned. Sometimes (few times a week) my JK randomly doesn't start. It doesn't click. The electronics go on just fine, all the lights just fine. Every time however if I turn the key and take it out, open and close the door, then try again it turns on right away just fine. NO idea what this could be. Also my remote start works every time.

Never experienced anything like this. Any clues?

 

Is it an automatic? Mine used to do that where I would turn the key and then nothing however if I would just tap the shift lever forward then turn the key it would start. Ended up adjusting the neutral safety switch to fix it.

 

Did you check the battery main cable connections or the battery ground cables. Take them off, clean them with plastic scotchbrite pads, soak them with hot water and baking soda (old school stuff) then apply Vaseline and torque them back up. Plus check all the other grounds under the hood - believe there are 3 or 4 just down on the top side of inner fender where hood meets fenders both sides.
