I added the 7 year / 60,000 B2B on mine when I bought it ... which also included 2 years of oil changes.

I was thinking about canceling it and using the cash for some upgrades ... but found out that Chrysler will send refund to the Lien Holder not you if the vehicle has a loan on it ... oh well.

If you buy a Chrysler Service Contract it will cover MOPAR installed parts and accessories. You should always buy the factory service contracts, as they have the best intrest in the customer. The factory wants to keep you as a customer for life and are more likey to assist you when you have made some minor modifications to the vehicle. If you instal non-MOPAR parts, the service contract will cover the other components as long as the non-MOPAR parts didn't cause the failure, same goes with the factory warranty. So, if you were to use an after market suspension lift and installed 37 inch tires and you AC goes out, they would still cover the AC, but may not cover an axel bearing or trans.

I got the '09 instead of the '10 (oh-ten? heh) because of the warranty. Upgraded to the bumper-to-bumper for a little under $2k, hopefully that will pay off well -- it does seem to cover pretty much everything... had to ask about that about 10 times just to make sure it didn't have a bunch of loopholes.

The '09 was unlimited miles, unlimited time powertrane, upgradeable to bumper-to-bumper. However the warranty is not transferable.

The '10 warranty is I think unlimited time but capped at 75k miles, and is transferable.

I hope Fiat has some deep pockets, I plan on keeping this jeep for a loooong time.

I picked up a 09 2dr Rubicon last weekend after looking for some time.

I purchased the 5yr glass warranty for $350 that covers any and all cracks or chips as many times as I want for 5yrs. I also bought the bumper to bumper lifetime service plan that adds lifetime coverage to everything except wear items such as belts, brake pads, clutches, tires etc. I paid 2300 which was less than the 2700 full retail price. I too plan on having this for a VERY LONG TIME.

They told me any Authentic Jeep Accessories would not only NOT VOID my warranty but they would be covered under the warranty.

I bought the extended lifetime bumper to bumper.

So far it's covered everything - even the things they realized happened offroading. Not because I argued for it, but because they said it shouldn't have broken.

It's money well spent, as far as I'm concerned.

Maxcare is the only way to go.

Also, don't ever let a dealership talk you into an aftermarket warranty. If you don't believe me, talk to a service advisor. Get ready for a rank...

Default Warrantee

A few comments on those of you that got extended warrantees from Jeep/Chrysler or an aftermarket insurance warrantee company. With Chrysler, remember to have your Wrangler in for inspection at the required interval to keep your warrantee in force. It MUST be inspected and your booklet stamped. I got in on a special when I bought my 2008 X. It was just under $1000 with a Garmin 255W thrown in through Chrysler. I bought an extended warrantee (non-Chrysler) on my "96 Cherokee Sport a few years ago. It had a $50 or $100 deductable. Shortly after getting it my A/C condenser failed. I went to a local garage that agreed to accept the warrantee company I was using. (Be careful here, all repair shops DON'T accept all warrantee companies.) As they went through the repair process they had to get EACH and EVERY part, gadget, hose, clamp, o ring etc approved for replacement. They spent so much time waiting on the phone they asked me to go elsewhere for any future repairs. In another extended warrantee situation on a Nissan the deductable was for each part, NOT each breakdown occurrence. I'd really do my research on any extended warrantee company. Google their reputation, read customer comments. Remember they are insurance companies first, NOT car companies. They are in business to make money not pay claims. Also I've seen situations where the warrantee company goes belly up and sells their insured customer base to another company. It can get VERY messy. Buyer beware

The inspection is free and only once every five years, and within 60 days of the anniversary.
