Default Jeep jk backseat issue

I have had a rattle in my back seat from day 1 on my 12' jk. You could shake the headrests and 1/8"-1/4" of slop in the seat isolated to the drivers side. The dealer on the first visit lubed the latches. Second trip ordered brackets, took it back in there same issue. Third time they ordered a whole new power frame. Problem finally fixed. With the use of electrical tape on the hooks on the floor.

Issue now is the upholstery in the back looks terrible. My oldest is no longer in a booster and noticed how bad it looked. Set an appt and they said there was nothing that could be done since the opening all lined up for the car seat anchors. The service advisor brought out the tech to look it over and said the same thing. Then the tech asked if the "jeep was lifted when I had the seat fixed"? I said no, he asked "if it was a mopar"? I replied they are pricey. He responded that most people buy them to keep their warranty intact. I know they can flag the jeep at the dealership and don't know how far to take this back seat issue.

Anyone have any advice?

That's up to you but in order for them to void a warrantee on a part they have to prove the problem was caused by something you did. Claiming the seat upholstery was installed poorly because of the lift that was installed later is just foolish and wouldn't be won. I'm guessing they were trying, and maybe succeeded, in scaring you.

I know it has to be an associated part. I just felt like they were holding it over my head that it wasn't a mopar lift.

I understand. I would have asked if they thought that was a result of the lift.

Reminds me of Harley Davidson. I bought from my dealer and installed HD oil coolers on my bikes. Next time I brought one in for an oil change they said they couldn't service it because it had an oil cooler. I asked if oil coolers void warrantee why do you sell them? I think I answered my own question there. After speaking to the manager, they changed the oil under warrantee.

where do his kids ride then? those look like cloth seats, so you can probably just get a nice set of covers to toss on them

No kids in a Jeep. Jeeps aren't for fun, or play. Strictly business.
