I agree, my warranty ran out this past August didn't get another and now the only mechanic is me.

Someday during my lifetime Id like to see the jeep brand sold to a reputable company like nissan. By the time that happens though gasoline will have such a high tax, solid axles will illegal and 4 wheeling will be racist.

Uh Oh. Brand new to the forum, and bought a 2012 new from dealer.
Sunday there was a large puddle of coolant in the garage.
Took it to the dealer on Monday, where it was kept for 3 days.
They replaced the thermostat housing.....

I'm not very mechanical, but it seemed to be leaking from a large hose coming from the top of the radiator.
Does that sound like the housing? Sorry to be so clueless - I'll learn.
Thanks.
Mark

Welcome to the forum!! Hopefully you have a decent dealer. Most of the mechanics nowadays are a bunch of parts changers. Mostly the fault of the manufacturers. Heck when you have to replace an entire radio because the lights don't work and bulbs can't be replaced tells you the mindset of these giant companies. Why pay for a 40 cent light bulb when they can charge you $600 to swap your radio??

The housing will be on the large hose coming from top of radiator were it connects to the engine block. It houses the thermostat which opens and closes at a certain temp to maintain engine temps

Thanks! That's where it seemed to be leaking from what I could tell.
