JK Problems
So trying to get some help. Been having a hard time and getting very frustrated. Got s 2007 JK with 3.8 and throw a rod. Ok got a reman and put in. Everything hooked up and won't start. Had my buddy come over with his snap on machine and the computer wasn't talking to sensors. Trailer to stealership to have them flash the computer thinking it's lost Everything. Well they say it needs new computer so ok they put one in and flash it. They still couldn't get it to start. Not positive what they did but got it started and seemed ok. Then after a few days cel started coming on and it would buck snd act as it wasn't getting fuel. Dealer said it's just old gas put some treatment in there and go. I told them it was more than that. On the way home evidently that engine had a issue and started knocking. (When they remanned it they left shavings in it) Got new motor put in by garage this time because it is warranted. He couldn't get it running right and kept changing sensors. Finally back to the dealer where it set for a while because nobody knew what to do. Then a new guy come in changed the whole wiring harness and pigtails to the sensors. Drove it a bit seems fine. Then check engine light on again and starts bucking starving for fuel. So I put in a new pump. Same thing except the traction control light comes on and check engine light flashes. Pull cable off battery and let reset. Then fine for a bit then all of a sudden lights on and starts bucking
I do know the 2007 wireing is different from the 2008 up so maybe there is an issue there. Was the reman motor and computer from a 2007? Traction control is likely a wheel sensor that is not fully plugged in.
not really positive. The engine was ordered for an 07 through a business that does reman. The dealership ordered and installed computer
You have a lot going on here. I would have to think with the CEL and other lights coming on, the 1st place to start would be to pull the stored diagnostic codes to see if they provide any insight to where to start looking for answers. If the lights are coming on, then there are codes stored. I have the BlueDriver OBD code reader and really like it, best $100 I spent for doing repairs on my JK.

Whoa there buddy. If it threw a rod then 5 seconds before it did, it was running ok I presume. You are throwing money at a plethora of problems here based on diagnosis from the typical "I don't know what I am doing" mechanic. They are good at spending someone else's money. Before you go too far go back to the beginning and check everything and use the original ECU that it was running with when it blew and the original harness that was working when it blew. Verify all connections, EGR, Evap pipes, sensors are all connected correctly. Clear all faults and codes in the original ECU and start again. That means get it running, drive it, code comes, see what it is, fix it, clear DTC, move to next. Who did the reman? Reputable shop or backyard mechanic?
Something is not right if you reset it then it goes wrong again. Not a bad ECU because the new one does it. When you have it running and if it is original equipment get your money back on everything that was spent on it that was not required if you did not make the choice to go that route.
