jk on sand.
Had my new JK up in wild horse country of the Outer Banks NC back in August.
Made it up to the VA border on the beach.
Been going to OBX for 9 years (but previously in the minivan!
). Thank God, this year bought the JK and took it down with the family. Off came the doors and the top, and went looking for the horses for the first time ever.
15 miles on the beach just to get to some of the summer rentals there. No problems though in 4-HI, 18" stock tires, no deflating.
BTW, heads turned up and down Route 12 as we drove by.

I just spent the weekend in Corolla at the Outer Banks in NC. Spent 3 days driving in nothing but sand with the doors off and the top down. It was a blast.
I did turn the ESP to partial off, and used 4HI the whole time. I got into some really deep soft sand, but just dropped into 1 and then upshifted to 2 (I have the auto, it was a safety decision for the Mrs, at 4'10" she was too close to the steering wheel to work both the clutch and gas).
I didn't even let any air out of my tires. Didn't even come close to getting stuck.
Then again, I grew up lifeguarding 9 summers at the beach and have always driven on the sand, so some experience does come into play.

I'm still finding sand everywhere!
