I had an MJ. It was just a half-baked pick-up truck. Nothing military about it.

if that came from answers.com, you should stop using that site. jk, tj, yj, cj, kj, wk etc are all just internal names Jeep uses when developing their product, as was mentioned above. MJ was the Comanche, TJ NEVER stood for touring Jeep.

interesting tidbit: TJ Unlimiteds are widely known as LJ's, although Jeep never used that term internally. they simply called them the TJ Unlimiteds. "LJ" was coined by us, Jeepers, who coined it the "long Jeep", hence LJ.

If you take the letters of the alphabet and their ordinal number, you get J=10 and K=11. Added together that equals 21. 21 in Roman Numerals = XXI. XXI = 10, 10, and 1. If you add 10+10+1, you get 31. There are 31 days in January, March, May, July, August, October, and December. The Jeep model year comes out in August, which as previously noted as 31 days. Therefore, the obvious name for the new Jeep was"JK".

Duh.
