Therefore, the obvious name for the new Jeep was"JK".

Duh.
I thought "Lost" went off the air

... Well I don't know where you learned your math, but 10+10+1 equals 21 for me.

Good job for trying, but it doesn't make sense

The JK should have actally be given the designation FC as it's the first Jeep to feature the Flux Capacitor in even bare-bones X trim (power windows optional).

You guys will get a kick out of this. my wife and i have two grand daughters, 1 is 5 y.o. and the other is 3 y.o. We had nothing to do with their naming. Our daughters named the children. One is named Jaelyn and the other is named kayleigh.
When we bought the JK in 08 I had a custom tag made that ended in 08JK. When at the Jeep Jamboree in PA. a couple of summers ago I bought the bumper letter sticker that read, "it's a JK thing, you wouldnt understand" The wife and one of the daughters think that the I put the JK all over the Jeep in referance to the grand daughters. For the first two years, I didnt tell them any different and let them believe thats what it stood for. I finally clarified things last summer at the Jamboree in PA. Because there were some Jeeps there with the JK sticker and she wanted to know why they were displaying it. I told her the same thing as someone here already posted, in regard to the CJ, TJ, YJ etc. And a couple years ago we test drove a KJ Liberty but wanted something a little bit bigger. I still get a kick out of listening to them talk about it .

I'm just curious as to why it's the first Wrangler to have the "J" in the first spot as opposed to the second like all it's preprocessors?

Just making sure you are paying attention!

Do you mean if it really added up to 31 it WOULD have made sense??

Hmmm... maybe I missed the mark on that one.

On closer examination, a "Kilo" is a measure of weight. "Juliet" is a satellite around Uranus. The new Jeep can haul more weight (properly equipped) than previous versions, so Juliet Kilo means in addition to our fat asses, it can haul more stuff. Juliet Kilo is the military call sign for "JK", therefore....

Now does THAT make sense?
