JK is the WORST vehicle on the road? ;o)
I don't know that this is "crap". For the average driver this stuff is important.
Ride- the ride is not very good compared to the average car.
Handling- the handling is not very good, compared to an average car.
Braking- the braking is not very good compared to an average car.
Noise- is not very good compared to an average car.
Fuel economy- is not very good compared to an average car.
Fit and finish- is not very good compared to an average car.
Visibility- is not very good compared to an average car.
Frontseat comfort- is not very good compared to an average car.
Access- ?? what exactly do they mean?? - Yeah, no clue what they mean.
Reliability- Not sure about this one...
The point is. I didn't want an average car. An average care will not do what I want to do. I did not buy my JK for any of the reasons that they looked at. I'm not insulted by the results of the testing, because they didn't test for anything that matters to me.

Acutally, the Jeep is the original SUV. Before SUV was a mainstream word, it was a Jeep Wrangler. The truth is, it's an insult to the Jeep to call things like the Escape an SUV or the myriad of other so called "Sport" "Utility" vehicles that never leave the pavement and would tear up on you in a heartbeat if they did.
You are right , compared to an average car. That's my point though, how can they compare it to anything? I understand they can try to compare the unlimited to some things and try to call it an SUV, but for the 2 door what is there just an F-Gay cruiser. It's kind of on its own and I don't think any Jeep is intended for the average person.
Seriously laughed out loud at that. With my 4 year old next to me. Now he's asking what's so funny. I got nothin for him. I'll just make something up about a train crash or something. He seems to think train crashes are funny.

Seriously though, I do my own research checking many sources and many sites before I make a purchase, C.R. was always one of the ones I've least trusted, their reviews always seem a bit askew.

Sadly to say this doesn't surprise me.
I thought it was called an FJ Loser
They are obviously non-enthusiasts looking at the JK through soccer mom eyes. That's ok, I'm sure the JK sucks in ride quality and visibility compared to the other SUV's that will be junkyard fodder in 10 years.
Much like my dad's 1980 CJ, grandpa's 1963 Willys, and cousin's 1978 CJ, I'm sure mine will still be on the road and being enjoyed for generations to come. Jeep Wrangler is a classic design and is made (thankfully) for a specific consumer.

If you bought a Wrangler for smooth quite highway ride, passenger comfort and amenities, best in class gas mileage, and easy of entry and exit, you would be sorely disappointed compared to most SUVs. But is was not designed to provide those values for its purchasers. It was designed to provide serious off road ability, the joy of top down, doors off driving, and a sense of history and tradition.
On those values, the Wrangler is in a class by itself. That is the important thing to remember. The mistake of the reviewers is really the dishonesty of the reviewers who found fault with the Wrangler for not doing well what it was never designed to do well, but ignoring how very good it is at doing what it was designed to do.
Just chuckle a little the next time you drive up an obstacle and the guy in a "highway SUV" just watches and regrets. A guy in a Subaru parked next to me at the Burger King in Moab. As his companion exited the Subaru and saw my Jeep (I was coming out of the Burger King), he said to the driver, "When are you going to get a real SUV?" They had probably gone to the entrance of Hell's Revenge and realized they could not get up the first obstacle.
