JK wouldn't start
Ok, it's running fine now but just wanted to get opinions on what caused this. We were offroading this past weekend and I had a friend that needed winching. I pulled into a decent pulling position and proceeded to winch him out. I usually leave the vehicle running, but thinking back now I think it was off this time. :( I winched him out no problem, got everything packed up a few minutes later and Jeep just turns over like there is no fuel. It is setting with the front facing downhill grade. I notice the fuel level indicator is showing no fuel...... it has a half of a tank actually. Check all fuses, disconnect battery cables, nothing helps. All other electronics seem fine. We finally let it roll downhill to a level surface. Still same readings on fuel guage. After turning the engine over a time or two the fuel guage goes to half a tank and it starts. All is fine.
Could it have been winching without the engine running? Why would it not reset until level ground? I'd like to avoid this in the future.

There is a bug with the JK's (You can find a few threads about this issue)
When your gas tank is lower than 1/2, and the Jeep is parked on a hill. The gas can't go to the engine anymore.
The gas tank is too long and not deep enough...
