The e-brake shoes do not have any involvement in stopping the vehicle when pressing the pedal brake. Because ive been having squealing problems on the rear brakes. Suspecting the rear calibers locking up or sticking. I took the rear tires off along with disc calibers. With ebrake off the wheel was extremely tight. I could barely turn the wheel hub. Come to find out the parking shoes were burning a groove inside the rotors. I sprayed brake clean all over assembly loosen star wheel and pb blastered the e brake cable. I got left side working properly still have the right side to do which is the worst.

Anybody run into this problem b4?

Sounds like u need to just keep adjusting that other side.... Something is seized in the drum section of the disc in the e brake set up, u may need to replace that sides parts (not expensive), can't tell u for definite tho without seeing it in person.

The e-brake shoes are normally thin. They don't have the same thickness as regular brake shoes on a drum brake setup. Should only be maybe a 1/4 inch or less thick.
