Keep it, trade it, or dump it? What should I do?

Thanks JeepaRoo. That is good info. I have some friends that went through the process in MN with a Ford Superduty about 12 years ago. They put 7 ( yes seven) transmissions in it in the 1st year. They filed and went to arbitration and easily won. They got 100% refund on thier money.

I'm honestly not thrilled about having to break down on the side of the road 2 more times.

Maybe just go buy the new F150 and move on.

I Lemon Lawed a '08 Dodge Ram 2500 Cummings Diesel and it was the easiest process ever. I called an attorney and after sending in my work invoices Dodge bought the truck back ($full price) and sent it straight to auction. About four months start to finish. I'd highly suggest this route.

Why or have you not contacted chysler corporate ? Not customer service but a personal senior rep ??

Otherwise you will get no where.

I made a short YouTube video of my issue posted it a few times on jeeps facebook page and that's all it took.

No irate or anything and I've been well taken care of

Default Lemon Laws

I always wanted one, so I finally pulled the trigger and bought one a year ago August. While I do really the like the vehicle, it has been the most unreliable vehicle I have probably ever owned. The main issue are the failed cam position sensors that have left me stranded 4 time now in the 1st year. the engine goes into limp mode and you can barely drive it at that point. Monday morning, I had them tow it in as there was no way I could get it to the deler after that failure. Anyway, they replaced the sensor AGAIN, checked the Cam phasers for issues and replaced a short wiring pigtail to the cam position sensor. They were honest that they did not find the root problem, which means it wil break down again.

At this point, my wife won't drive it. Winter is coming in MN, so I can't reallly drive it out of town as it will break down again. So I have a couple of options.

1. let it fail one more time and file the lemon law. After that the dealer gets one more time to aattempt to fix it. This means I would have to let it fail an additional 3 times before i get any action. Financially this is probably the best option.

2. I talked to the dealer about a trade in on a 2015 Rubicon. they would transfer my tires/wheel/bumper which, etc to the new one. i would have to put a new lift on the Rubicon. out of pocket expense would be about $14,000

3. trade it in on a loaded FX4 F150. About $7K out of pocket expense. no more Chrysler related dealings or issues. this is probably the most practical option, but does not have the fun factor.

I'm torn as to what to do......
Lemon Laws are full of loop holes. I had to go that route with 2 Wranglers. It was most aggravating and time consuming. The second, with no end in sight.
When you purchase a New vehicle, and are making payments, it makes it that much harder mentally and $$. The second time, I jumped ship. Licked my
bruises and got a Ford. No more problems and I won't look back. Chrysler-Fiat, and previously just Chrysler knowingly are producing these vehicles
with poor quality workmanship and known defects that CANNOT be remedied at the dealer level!

If not for the Wrangler, I wouldn't touch a Chrysler product with a ten foot pole. I love my Jeep and even though it's been reliable, they are total shit. The build quality is typical crap Chrysler. My death wobble needs to be masked by a heavy duty stabilizer even though I replaced every single suspension bolt with a properly torqued heavy duty set, the paint chips when I burp too loudly, it consumes a quart every 2k miles, the starter and battery went out at 80k, as did the temp sensor, the plugs were shot at 60k mikes, etc. It has never left me stranded though and since I am mechanical the problems are tolerable. And the brakes and ESPN have saved my life several times when avoiding crazy Bay Area drivers. Chrysler did a superb job in that department. I don't know of a single complaint about the braking system. And off-roading, towing, hauling, camping etc... Overall I love the Jeep.

Well, I made a decision. Earlier in the week, i had made a deal on a very nice 2014 FX4 F150, but yesterday I decided to make one last stop at the Jeep dealer. They actually stepped up and worked a pretty darned good deal on a trade for a new Rubicon. I am going to keep my tires, wheels, soft top, bumpers, winch, lights, etc and bolt it all to the new one. It is getting a 3.5" AEV lift installed Monday and I pick up Tuesday. While the F150 is a fantastic truck, it just did not have the fun factor. All in all I am satisfied with the outcome. We will give Jeep one more try but if this one has issues, then no more Chrysler products ever again.

Pictures on Tueday after I get it back.
