Default Keyless entry...what the heck???

A couple times lately, my key fob will not unlock my doors. I have to manually unlock, then set off the alarm and start the jeep. Then after I do that, it will work for the next few days. The radio presets and clock are good and not reset when this happens. I changed the fob batteries and they are new. Any thoughts? It is completely arbitrary and so far I cannot duplicate on demand. Starting to get annoying.

Had the same issue. When to a dealer and was told I needed new keys. I got a new key (at $225 with reprogramming) and within 2 days I could not unlock with the remote. I was so pissed off because the dealer did not fix the issue. I then ripped the column apart and found where the antenna cable was and unplugged and reconnected a few times. Put it all back together and have not had any more issues for the last 9 months. Hopefully this helps. Good Luck

Mine has been doing the same thing only it only seems to happen when it gets cold. Most other times it works perfect.

I have the same problem. I cut the black wire on the wire harness for the drivers door so I don't set the alarm off.

I have a 07 JKU that the locks quit working on about a month ago. I can't lock or unlock with the dash buttons either. The fuse is blown and I can't find where the short is.

Mine is the opposite, locks won't always lock. I get the hazard flash and all, but the locks stay open. After I press it 2 or 3 times they'll finally lock up.

Mine is a 2009, but i picked her up used as a family toy so I've only had it a couple weeks. When it does it, the fobs just stop working completely like the jeep doesn't even see them. No lights, horn, locks etc with either button. Next time it does it, i am going to try the panic button and see if that one works.

Mine is a 2009. Seems like the colder it gets the more often the remote start doesn't work. In Central NY it sucks.
