Your muffler is too loud???? I cant hear mine at all.

When I got new tires, the guy at the tire place even commented that he could barely hear the engine.

Go for the insulated top, like I mentioned before its two-fold. Its keeps the inside real cool and cuts down the road noise to a minimum. I used 1" closed cell high temp rubber and fiber glassed it in to seal it in then painted it black. I just have to do to the side windows now..There is no road noise at all and very cool with the AC on..During the winter time it will hold in the heat very well too.

Your kids can handle it off. Trust me. Humans can survive in almost any environment on this planet. We didn't have air conditioning until the early part of last century, but we've been living in Africa and Mexico (hotter than where you live) since way before that.

If your kids can't handle some heat, it's because you've raised them to be soft. Sorry, but it isn't like they'll die if they get hot.

Caveat: Leaving them in a closed vehicle with the windows up is hotter than we can handle, but no Jeep with the A/C on or windows down gets that hot ever.

The one time my ac couldn't keep up was on a trip home to Colorado from KC. It was 110 with the heat index and humid as shlt. I finally hung a blanket over the rear roll bar to try to minimize the space that needed to be cooled. Obviously not a great permanent option for you. I've probably only run the ac between 5-10 times since I've owned it the last three years.

It's not the OEM muffler. It's the Gibson dual split cat back. The drone is awful.

Well, looks as if this thread has gone to the dogs.

Thanks to all the serious responses. I appreciate the tips and may do something similar to what you've done. I'll post something when I do.

I have seen an option that might help you.... In the back of police magazines, where they try to sell ad space and all that other stuff.... I have seen a product designed for the guys in the southern areas like Florida to keep cool. It looks almost like a vacuum cleaner hose that has a universal attachment that connects to your heater/ac vent. You can then Connect the other end of the vent into your vest or right into the back seat. You could even hold it to your face if you want. I'll try to find the name and some pics. Hope this helped a little.
