Default Leaking at C

My axle is leaking at the C. I noticed it in the passenger side. Took it to the dealership and they replaced the seal. Not long afterwards, I noticed it leaking again and now I think it is leaking on drivers side. Would the leaking be from a bent axle?

Maybe when they replaced the passenger side seal they were a little careless getting the driver's side shaft back in and nicked that seal.....leading to a leak on that side??

Ashamed to say I learned that lesson the hard way too....LOL. That's 3 lessons I've admitted to today alone.

Was that driver's side seal replaced at the same time the passenger side was? Surely they didn't replace one side and leave an old one in the other side.

Dang, that is one of those things....if you have to go through the effort to pull both front wheels, brakes, and axle shafts, then open the diff and pull the carrier, no reason not to replace both seals at the same time. Only an additional $15 or so. If the passenger side was just worn out and the driver's side wasn't replaced at the sametime.....I'd think odds are likely that one is just worn as well. If the driver's side was replaced at the same time, I'd think more likely they shoved the axle shaft in carelessly and nicked it or didn't lube the shaft at all when pushing it back through. I know how aggravating that little leak is too. Was that covered under some warranty, or did you have to pay for the labor?

That really stinks. Not sure there is much recourse. It's not a technically difficult job, but since you took it in the first time, assume you don't care to mess with this driver's side. If you were in DFW, I'd come help.

The oil you see may be just residue in the tubes from when they had the shafts out. Clean it up and see if you continue to see oil at the Cs.
