Default Leaky rear diff- 6000 mi?

I know I saw a similar thread on here a while back, but I couldn't find it.

Anyway, I noticed an oily stain on my rear differential this afternoon, around the bottom bolts. 6000 miles on it, still completely stock. Should I take it in for warranty work, or just switch out to a better gasket and better fluid while I'm at it? I guess what I am trying to ask is will the warranty fix just leak again?

if it is just the typical weep then it is just a poor sealing job from the factory.

See WOL's write up and change the fluid yourself. Takes 1/2 hour including cleanup. I don't know what your set up is but there are lots of posts on the correct fluid and volume etc for the different diffs. Easy job. Smelly, but easy.

BTW, I did my first change at about 6k miles and the rear fluid was filthy.
