Left Rear rotor scraping noise
Hi guys! I was wondering if you could help me with this problem I'm having. I was driving down the road and noticed an intermittent rubbing/scraping noise today. It comes and goes and seems like its worse when the Jeep is cold. There really isn't any play in the brake pedal, and I worked the emergency brake up and down to see if it would stop, but alas, it came back. I don't really offroad, so I don't think it's a bent axleshaft. It's not a loud, high pitch squeal either, and the brake pads and rotors look fine. I'm really tearing my hair out on this one. Also, If any of you are on Fort Carson, Colorado I could really use the help/tools/garage space. There may be a case of beer in it for you!
Hi
I have just fixed the squeak from my right rear....
It was the brake pads squeaking on the guides of the calliper.
I took it all apart and reassembled with a lick of copaslip.
The hardest part was figuring out which wheel was squeaking. Eventually got my wife to drive about slowly with me standing on the rock rails.... I had my bicycle crash helmet on, so I was being safe...ha,ha,ha.
Hope this helps.
Regards
Paul

[QUOTE=SaFFFari;3833636]I had a similar sound and it ended up being the dust guard behind the rotor rubbing on the rotor every time the brake was applied. A rock bent it[/QUO
