Lol. Read this thread this morning and then went and took the doors off before work. Locks only keep honest people out

Love my Power Locks and windows... I always buy them even on a 2 door!.. wouldnt by it any other way.. but im a gadget-guy

really though I had plenty of jeeps without them and it wasnt a big deal other than convenience.. I receive a LOT of phone calls.. so its nice to be abke to run the windows up (If I have the doors on) without having to lean all over creation..

the only thing id really miss on a would be the power mirrors and the heated mirrors that I think are part of the power package...

Me neither, I also have half-doors which it's windows are powered by a zipper. Locking these Jeeps won't keep anyone honest out, I can undo my soft top windows from the outside!

I bought mine used so if it came with power I would probably be dealing with it fine, but luckily mine came with no-power, no hard top, & half doors options; and I LOVE IT!

I agree with all of these above, I have had mine for 4 years and 120,000 KM.

What, I send the kid ahead with the keys and he can crawl through and unlock all the doors (for the rare times it is locked).

Go for it.

I have all manual and wouldn't have it any other way. I usually have my doors off so I don't even notice it much... I don't believe in fancy tech on jeeps. Should be rugged all the way!

100%agree but some of these guys act like its the end if the world.i guess power options is what separates mall crawlers from real wheelers. I guess I must be odd bc I opted for 4:10 gears and bigger stock tires instead of power windows..

i've got an unlimited with manual windows and locks and it is totally fine. the only time it is annoying is when a passenger rolls up their window and i don't notice. then the next time i'm in the jeep alone and want all the windows down i need to roll them all down from the driver seat. which isn't all that difficult, by the way.

it was kinda fun explaining to the kids where the term "roll down the window" came from.

but recently i installed tube doors so there's no need to worry about any of that.

Once upon a time, 350 miles from home... In the middle of nowhere, I took my "loaded" XJ swimming. Thankfully, the windows where already down... Because the doors where locked and the water pushing against the doors... You can figure out the rest.

Water and electrical stuff don't play well together... Including power windows and locks.

And now, I love the minimalist approach.

Kinda bums me out when I hafta put the doors and top back on my JK.

P.S. I did get the XJ home thanks to my nephew, dried it out and cleaned all the electrical connections... "Bob" was happy again. And I didn't try crossing that creek again.
