Hi Everyone, I picked up my brand spanking new '14 JKU Sahara after trading in my '12. I found in the glove box a package of locking lugs similar to the first picture i have attached to this post, when I tried to put them on my wheels i found i already had locking lugs (2nd and 3rd photo attached to this post).

My dealer had the Jeep transferred from a dealer 4 hours away and they didn't send the key and when they made contact they have no idea where it might be.

My questions are:

Does anyone know what brand my existing locks are? I

f you do know the brand which is better?

I like the locks i have on the Jeep now, honestly i think they look cooler but ultimately i would like the ones that are better quality and i figure i can order a key if i have to. Any help would be appreciated.

EDIT:
I think i might have found the manufacture of my lugs Gorilla http://www.gorilla-auto.com/

Yep, they look like Gorilla. If you have a Discount Tire nearby, they should have the key as I believe they are universal. The set I bought a few days ago use the same key as the ones I put on my wife's JK three years ago.

The set from the glove box if the key is not placed just right can and will deform the raised lock pattern making it pain to take off.. As for the locks on the wheels they very similar to the tuner lugs that my local tire place install on my jeep.. I'd head over to a big name tire shop and ask about a tuner lug key and see if it fits your lug..
Good Luck

I'd use the factory mopar locks on the left. No lock is perfect but at least the mopar locks have the collar that'll spin if someone hammers a socket over the lug nut in an attempt to remove it. Just remember NEVER use an impact wrench when using the key socket to remove the lock. That's a sure way to damage the key and lug nut. Use correctly they'll last forever. As for the other lock. Any lock that you can run down and buy over the counter or works on 2 different vehicle purchased 3 years apart really isn't a lock is it?

Looks like gorilla, not all are universal. They actually have a coded socket for the lug nut on your vehicle. Try calling them, explain the situation and take a photo of the lug so they can see the splines. You can also get a mold of it with playdoh, fill it with epoxy and send it to them for matching.

Check the vehicle for a gorilla sticker with a key number on it as well. Tool well in the cargo area, give box, owners manual, etc.

Good point, likely simpler to just rip the existing locks off and use the set I found in my glove box.

Those McGard locks you have in the first picture are very prone to breaking the key. Ask me how I know.

I would agree the locks on your wheels right now look exactly like the Gorilla brand ones on my Jeep right now. Like someone else suggested, check around your jeep for a sticker that will have a number you can use to order a new key from Gorilla. Should be gray/silver. Check glove box, center console, rear door, any storage area.

If that doesn't work, give Gorilla a call, explain the situation and they might be able to help you out.

Don't mean to thread jack but my gorilla lug nuts broke in half and basically disintegrated when I was attempting to rotate my tires. Using hand tools, no impact gun... Any reason why this would be? I can't get my tire off now and it needs to be drilled out and a stud replaced
