Well the reason I ask is old school tells us to vary the speed unloaded for the first 3000.

If it's brand new the manual recommends not towing a trailer at all for the first 500 miles.

Read your owners manual ... I wouldn't tow until you break in your new 2012.

That's what I was told when I bought my 09 X JKU brand new. Not to tow anything during the break in period. Not that I had anything to tow anyways.

Don't tow anything or use cruise control for the first 500 miles, if you want to properly break-in your engine. Also, vary speed and don't floor it.

I broke my 2011 in by driving to Yosemite from the Nevada side. No place to use cruise there! LOL
