Default looking for a lift kit. recommendations?

I recently purchased a new, 2013 JKU Sport and am looking for a 4" lift. Two local shops are pushing the Rubicon Express. Also, if I do the 4" lift with 35's, anything else I'll need to replace?

I would look into one of the Rock Krawler lifts. I debated and debated over what I was going to order for almost a year until pulling the trigger on the RK 3.5 X factor. You will be hard pressed to find one bad word about this company or their lifts. its a little more pricey but you get what you pay for you know? they are really complete kits. best of luck!

4" Is a lot of lift for 35's. Ive been happy with my Full Traction lift. I know people on Teraflex, Rock Crawler and they do the job.

I guess it would help if I added that we won't be doing any rock climbing or crazy off roading. Mostly just a cruiser and maybe some beach driving.

A few things you will need to do. One, lifts over 3" should have the driveshafts replaced. The OEM's shafts are not going to dig the new angle. With 35's you should eventually look at beefing up the axle with items such as axle sleeves, C gussets, or chromoly axles. You might want to get a programmer to change shift points if auto, and recalibrate speedometer. Better yet, which I still need to do, regear the diff.

I appreciate everyone's input. Another shop is pushing the Rough Country kit. I don't think I need to get crazy and buy the Rock Crawler or TerraFlex because I won't be doing much off roading. Mostly a weekend driver with trips to the lake, beach, etc....

Yeah, I agree with you there. No sense in buying a super lift and paying a ll that scratch if you're not going to use it. But, have you considered Teraflex coil lifts. Not a rep for them, but I've used several of their products and can tell you they're very well designed, and the smaller coil lifts are competitively priced. Just a thought.

Default Rock Krawler

I had a Rough Country lift on my old TJ. Worst waste of money ever.

Had a Rock Krawler on my last TJ. thing was AMAZING. 5.5" long arm. It flexed so well I almost never touched the lockers.

I have a 3" BDS lift on my current JK with 35s and love it. rides smooth and true. Fox Shox on it.

it was also reprogrammed so the TPMS and speedo are correct.

the BDS lift isn't cheap, but the ride is nice! I haven't been off road in years; but next summer plan to get back into it.

I would start looking here and Quadratec way before CL/eB/Ama. Ask a few questions, get a feel for what is out there. Start your won thread. You'll get many responses.
