I have a 2007 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. When I am driving I get a high pitched squeal sound. It is not constant and speed does not matter. When I take my foot off of the gas it will stop squealing but will eventually start back once my foot is on the gas. Any suggestions on what may be wrong?

Sounds like maybe the idler or tensioner pulley? Have you been through any muddy water lately?

A lot of times a bad ground will do that to you. Great thing is that is a free fix if it's the problem. I had a amp on another car that the ground went bad and drove me crazy till I found it.

We need more details from the OP of where the sound is coming from. Who knows, mine may match yours. Mine is on the throttle, I swear related to the throttle body.

i think because i traded it in but it was wierd screach ear piercing sound ! maybe bad amplifier in stereos

I get a screeching sound somewhere from either the engine or drive train when i get above 2500 rpm. I turn the music up louder so i cant hear it when that happens.

My so s TJ did this. It was his water pump bearing.
