Just like the title said. My pops was doing his thing out on the farm, had it in neutral and the clutch engaged and put it in 4hi, then attempted 4lo and got resistance. I dont know why he forced it, but he did and heard a loud pop. Now the transfer case shifter moves freely and the Jeep is stuck in 4hi. I'm guessing this is nothing new. Does anyone have any idea what we may be dealing with here? He drives an unmodified 2007 2 door 6 speed with 3.73's.

I hope it's the top one :p it's funny because the users guide says noise is normal when shifting to 4lo and to ignore it.

Oh man I hope its the top one too! Either way at least we know what it is. What to do if it is in fact the bottom one.......

Mine came off too. The rubber bushing wore out. I just greased it up and put a metal clip over the end of the pivot pin from the case less than a dollar fix.

You really want to be rolling forward slightly when shifting. Never force it

The replacement bushing is part # 1-68064273AA $0.35 cents + tax
