MAF and TB cleaning?
 

i called to make an appt with the dealership for a 15k service. i do everything myself but i figured i need to eventually get my rig in the system so if anything ever happens they can't say i never brought it in for maintenance. i have 16k and asked what needed to be done and they told me oil change, tire rotation, MAF cleaning, TB cleaning, injector cleaning, air filter... all i want them to do is change the oil and thats stretching it. I'm obviously going to pass on everything else because i just rotated tires and have a new air filter in my garage. how do i clean the maf and tb? and do i just run a treatment through my tank for the injectors? my diffs should be good until summer so ill leave that alone so i can save up for new covers too. what do you guys recommend? thanks!

Seafoam treatment works great imo.....i run mine through the brake booster vacuum line....just pull off line and pour bottle slowly into line....sit back and enjoy the smoke show....lol

Definately feel that the throttle is more responsive and smooth. I do this every 6 months

This. And Chrysler combustion chamber cleaner to remove carbon. There is a good write up on here about cleaning the tb. It is easy

Isn't running that through your intake hard on your cats?

i am interested in doing the seafoam treatment thru the lines, but not sure exactly which line. if someone could snap a shot of the correct line, i would be extremely grateful. thanks:beer:

Not any harder than all the burned off oil clogging them

so i get some chrysler ccc and spray it where? and i should put the seafoam in the tank? or should i find a better additive? i hear mixed results about seafoam but only good stuff about chrysler ccc...

IMO, the seafoam is good to run through the tank, but when your ready to step up to the big leagues, CCC is where it is. It works best with two people. One person keeps the engine running while the other sprays the contents directly into the throttle body until can is empty. Shut off motor and allow to sit, preferably several hours. Then go drive the shit out of it, get on it etc. May need a second treatment if carbon deposits are bad. The stuff works great
