Default Magnetic body shield

There is a company in CA that makes a body protective kit that clings to the doors and side panels of a vehicle to protect it from offroad scratches. My son located it a couple of years ago for his H3, but never bought it. It is supposed to be moulded for a specific rig, easy to put on and take off. Anybody know what I'm talking about and who they are?? I just brought home a new Unlimmited Rubicon that will be my DD, but would like to build it up for offroading and want to protect it from the brush for a couple of years.

Thanks

I have used magnetic business signs on the sides of my work vehicles. They scratch the paint also. Maybe not as bad as driving through the wood. But you will still find dull paint and orange peal scratches. Probably best to go with some kind of clear vinyl wrap. Just my $0.02

This product was not supposed to scratch the paint. It is made to conform to each vehicle and will go on and off fairly easy. I don't know for sure how it is fastened to the Jeep. I think the vinyl wrap would tear from the brush and cacti in AZ. I've seen it used to protect the front from bugs etc, but I don't think it would hold up the the stuff we go through.

I found it. It's called Off-Road Magnetics and they are in TX. I think all a person would have to do is get to the trail and run a California Duster over the Jeep before installing it. I would think it would go a long way toward protecting the paint.

It is certainly something I thought would be easy and makes a lot of sense. Would be interested in something like this myself. That is as long as it wasn't rediculously over priced.

I've sent for info on it. Their site says starting at $500 and going to $1500 for a full sized crew cab pickup. Somewhere in between seems about right for a 4 door Jeep.

The company you are referring to is called MagnaShields here in Southern California. I purchased a set for my old H3 a couple of years ago. I loved them. I could go through the craziest brush and take them off and my paint would still be perfect. It does take some time to put them on, but it is worth it. They are held on magnetically and secured using tape so they don't come off at highway speeds.

I think 3M also has applications like you are talking about. Don't know if they are vehicle matched but their website has "find an installer" option
