Making the rear light change with original parts at no cost
I liked the idea of relocating the rear high brake light so I did some work.
I removed the light and plastic riser cover and cut off the riser.
I cut the light off and cleaned it up a little.
Careful measuring and trimming will give you a nice fit.
The light base will end up with a slight angle to it so I took a small angle grinder and dressed up the metal portion to match.
When it would sit nice together with no gaps, I JB Welded the two pieces together, put a clamp on it and let it sit overnight.
Sucess!

That's pretty cool. My only concern would be the strength of the JB weld over time. I'm sure it'll hold for you depending on how many washboard roads you decide to barrel down lol. Still a cool mod, thanks for the write up!

I thought about the JB holding.
It would be very easy to make two small brackets to mount the light.
There's enough room on the underside.
And, I do travel a lot of washboard roads.
Gas fields in WV....

Good point, but who knows! It might hold forever, just cross that bridge when you get to it I guess. I had to to JB weld my fender back to my old Silverado one time and it held for a while.
