Malfunction Light
I just bought a new 07 Wrangler X 2 DR. It did not come with the factory fog lights so I bought the Mopar kit specifically for the jeep.
The install required replacing the turn signal/headlight stalk on the steering column, and installing 2 wires into the power box (in bundle D) under the hood.
I am almost through with the project with the exception of hooking up the fog lights.
I started my engine and the "Malfunction Light" came on, The instructions for the install state that the onboard computer requires a reflash from the dealer after the install so the system will recognize the fog light system. I have not completed the reflash as of yet.
The question is: What has caused the Malfunction Light to come on? Could it be the computer sensing the new turn signal/headlight stalk (where fog light switch is)? I have not powered up the fog lights because the lights themselves are not installed yet, just the wiring. Maybe something discoonect in the power box under the hood while installing the fog light wiring harness?
