Am I missing something here, I tried the nuts and bolts thing but it kept coming undone the bolts kept coming lose.... I couldn't do it... Is there some kind of trick?

Take two wrenches and tighten the nuts together, hard. If that doesn't work weld the nuts to the bolt. NO welder? Anyone with a welder can do it in 30 seconds.

Red thread locker might work too if you let it cure. No thread locker either? Put both nuts on the bolt, set the bolt head down on the ground and hit the shaft of the bolt with a BFH until the threads on the end are mushroomed real good. Homemade thread locker. Wear your safety glasses and watch your fingers!

I did it by using the bolt and double nut shown in the above post. Once I figured out what size to use it was not too bad. I would still like to have a tool for the fluid changes. I tend to drive through quite a bit of water and if I contaminate the fluid I will want an easier way to change it.

ok I did it, thx to you guys, but to be honest... I did notice a little smoother shifting but not significant. I used Royal Purple synchromax. Does it take a while before the oil does it's thing????

I put Amsoil in mine and I didn't feel much of a differance at all. But I thought it shifted smooth before I changed it .

mine is very notchy, sometimes I have trouble putting it in 1st gear
