Max Speed With Sunrider Open
WHATEVER! OK, I tried but i just can't let that "women" comment slide.
I've went to 3 different jeep dealers with different questions about opening and lowering my sunrider top and after an hour of them standing around scratching their heads i realized that I (WOMAN that I am) knew MORE than they did! MEN Welcome to the site....

Men!
All,
If you saw the Jeep doing 75+ anywhere in FL, it was me. Honestly, I just forgot about the back window and kept moving. Didn't have any trouble until I hit about 85 on I-4 on Saturday evening. I drove from DE on Wednesday and was way too excited given the cold temps in the mid-Atlantic region.
The trouble was that the sides of the top (loose vinyl) cave in at higher than 75 MPH. Also, I forgot the straps, so that most likely caused it also.
I'll be more careful go-forward. Thanks for the reminder....

With the top back and all the windows up it works like an eductor, anything and everything will be pulled in and sucked out. This is also stretching the windows, that will cause a deep bass sound when you are going above 65 with only one window down and the top up. (figured this out with a rental in Maui). If you are into the bass thing it's great, but i found it very annoying.
I was following the wife a few days ago and she just threw the SunRider back and didn't strap it (sheesh!!). When I spotted her, she was doing about 45 w/back window UP and it seemed fine but the funny thing is when she slowed to about 15, the top started rising!! I called her, told her to pull over, and strapped it down for her and opened the back window. (women
