My JK seems to have a fuel saving thing for when it gets really low on gas, like a gallon or two left, it doesn't want to go above a certain rpm and the power cuts dramatically. I think this is great if it's the case, but I'm not sure if my mind's playing tricks on me. Anyone else experience this?
Too bad you can't switch this on to get extra fuel savings all the time.
* Sorry about the "car" reference. Yes yes I know it's not a car...

God just killed another kitten, A quick and humane one, Since you only made reference to your Jeep as a car. Had you actually said those dastardly words, The kitten would have been mutilated s-l-o-w-l-y

I'm not running WOT and I've never experienced this before in another vehicle. And it's quite dramatic. It happens instantly as though it's designed to do it.

That's what i'm saying. Basically however much you're pushing the pedal down, it's requring more gas than the engine is being fed. And i'm sure the JK is at WOT well before the pedal is on the floor.

If you only have a gallon or so left that could introduce air into the line with the fuel sloshing around in the tank. That could easily explain the loss of power.
You know you really shouldn't let it run that low. The fuel pump is cooled by the gas it is pumping. If it is that low you can overheat the pump and shorten its life.

it takes less than a minute with out fuel going through the pump to melt down your fuel pump.
I think you sucked up air and that caused the issue you experienced.
my other Chrysler product the gas light would come on below 1/4 tank mark
when it was dead empty the light would flash and you would here a ding ever few kms but still able to drive.about another 60miles
then chug chug key off and coast.
