Default MIL light on..

Nothing sounds wrong.. and I am just under 50k. I read some places about turning the key three times to get the error codes but mine just goes to -------- then after a bit it says d0ne but that's it.

I'm in a 2 door 2008 JK X

anyone have an error code list? and what is the best way to get the most recent error without going to the dealership?

thanks

Autozone and other parts places have code readers, they will do it for free

Normal, this is because the Jeep is okay, therefore no error code to show

Had an "engine light" today....

Checked it with the "3 key turns" and it said "d0ne" but the light stayed on.

So I headed to Autozone and they pulled a P2181 code.....
Which said on the computer "Engine Cooling Performance" or "Sending Unit Malfunction".

The dude that worked their suggested to check the coolant level, or take it to the dealer.
So I checked the coolant level - it was fine.
I went back to work....and when I came home this evening....the light was off.

I am keepin my fingers crossed.
