I was driving last night and all the sudden I heard a loud wack on my driver's side front. I pulled over to check it out. it sounded like something broke and came off. Checked my wheels and couldnt find anything wrong. Just as I pulled into my driveway I noticed my side mirror dangling. The housing was fine but the actual mirror was just barely hanging up there. Upon further inspection it wasn't broken. It somehow had popped loose. I carefully aligned the two top tabs on the backside of the mirror with the slots in the housing and bumped it with my hand. That's all it took to fix it. I then walked over to the passenger side and double checked that mirror too. Glad it was nothing major. It just scared the crap out of me. Just wondered if anybody else had a case of self detaching mirrors.

 

Nope, never had that problem. However, I did break someones mirror off when riding my motorcycle once... Big empty minivan decided it wanted my lane. Came right into me and the mirror just "fell" off Maybe a bird hit your mirror or something
