Mirror Relocation Brackets.
 

I have some extra cash from Christmas and wanted to see about getting some mirror relocation brackets. Any advice on brands?

I see the Rugged Ridge ones are only $50 for the pair, anyone have experience with these?

Will be nicer than having to setting up the mirror in the hinge when the doors come off. :yup:

I have the MOPAR one, it's okay but all you get is a single folding TJ mirror. It allows you to keep the stock mirrors where they are and you don't see it from the driver's seat when folded forward. I find it's ideal if you go between doors on and doors off a lot.

I have the Rugged Ridge ones. I was lucky to get them before the prices went up. Tip: shop around and try to find the lowest price.

The install was a little tricky as I had a hard time taking the stock mirrors off the old brackets.

The one thing you'll notice with the RR brackets is the passenger mirror get's obstructed when you put the doors back on. It would rock if they would re-design the passenger side to stick out a bit more, that would eliminate the problem. I just got used to it and got a blind spot mirror.

I remove the mirror (60 second job), but leave the bracket in place, when installing doors. You can see the bracket in this picture (right above the Trail Rated badge) ...

I have the rugged ridge ones and have nothing but good things to say about them. My only complaint is that they make it hard to see out of the passenger mirror. I bought a couple of stick on "fish eye" blind spot mirrors, and problem solved.

Thanks, guys, I really like that picture, too. I'm certain that Redneck knows that's not me; it's my son (Curtis) driving my Jeep. He just happened to decide to do that as I was shooting pictures of each Jeep in our run that day crossing downstream from the Grand Lake O' the Cherokees dam--at one mile, one of the longest dams in the world. It's a pretty area and has some awesome four wheeling. It is one of my favorite pic's, and someday I should print it up large and hang it in my office (at home, that is, since I'm retired).

As far as the Rugged Ridge relocators go, you'll probably be content with them. I am ... although I wasn't initially. They have gone through some ups and downs on quality control. Bolts that didn't fit, etc. I believe they've worked out the kinks by now ... or I would hope so.

When mine arrived the stock mirror bolts wouldn't fit in the cover plates per the instructions. Eventually I figured out the bolts/threads were the right size but powdercoating had been allowed to get into the threads on the plates.

The folks at Rugged Ridge were very, very helpful, though ... immediately and personally answered my e-mails. Even offered to send replacements, but I had already gone ahead and re-tapped the holes myself.

And of course, the problem with the passenger-side view is well-documented ... but you'll find that with most any relocator.

I'd say if you can live without your passenger-side mirror, go ahead and get the brackets. Move'em and forget'em.
