Default Mopar parts backordered?

Anyone know why all of the sudden there is this long backorder of Chrysler parts?

Does it have to do with the bankruptcy?

I have had a rear track bar on order for two weeks now..

You ordered a stock rear trackbar?

The Chrysler factories are shut down during the BK, so parts are in short supply. It will get worse before it gets better.

Must depend on the part. I have been ordering parts and wiring to do my Power Door lock conversion with no issues ...

Chrysler hasn't been paying their bills to the suppliers, so the suppliers have had to stop producing. With the huge emphasis on Just-In-Time and Lean manufacturing these days, any disruption can lead to inventory shortages very quickly.

Anyone have any idea when the parts will start flowing again? I though the whole point of the bankruptcy was sale to Fiat was to keep things moving slowly.

People said if Chrysler went away totally that parts would still be around for a long time. Chrysler has not even gone away and now you can't get parts? Give me a break. This is ridiculous.

I had to wait just over a week for a power steering pump. I had the dealer call around and the part was not in stock at any dealership around.

I agree, it sucks and I hope it improves...
