Default mpG odometer

Anyone notice there mpg on the odometer go down on a stop light? Had several vehicles and never seen that at a stop light ??

I have seen that shortly after resetting it but after a couple hundred miles you should see it stabilize.

Yup, like JE8154 said, it'll average. It measures fuel consumption over distance, so it you just reset it and then stop at a light, it drop like a rock.

When you guys drop doors but leave the top up does your gas go down like crazy? I expected a drop with the extra drag not as much as 4mpg

with a hard top on and the back window closed you're gonna catch a lot of air with the doors off, you're just killing what little aerodynamics the box on wheels had. 4mpg still seems a little ridiculous.

Yeah, whenever I idle for more than a minute or two, the mileage will go down .1 or .2
I went to the drive-in and lost almost 2mpg on the dash computer
I roll no doors/top and I notice no difference compared to with the top on
