Default Mud On softop

Sounds dumb huh??!?! Ok well I've washed it like 3x and I can't get the mud stains off!

Anyone have some idea(s)? I scrubbed last night for about half and hour and then washed and repeated.

Thanks!

and if I sound like a moron for not being able to get mud outta my softop then by all means remind me.

THANKS!

mine have been on for 3 weeks now... its getting annoying. I like when my jeep is dirty, but not perma-dirty!

Does anyone use something special? Should I grab the mopar cleaner or restorer?

Take down the soft top, and the mud is gone.

Seriously tho, go to a marine store and buy some vinyl cleaner.. my .02

I have heard that Fantastik (Bestop used to recomend it, before they had thier own stuff) works really well.
Also might want to try a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, seems to get stuff off of my fenders, and Bug guts off the grill.

303 protectant, get it at the RV dealers. It's $50 bucks a gallon but goes a long way. I've had my JK for 8 months, coat the hardtop, fenders ,tires, bumpers, step rails, inside, mirrors, door handles, at least once a week, and have coated my softop twice and safarie top several times, still have about 20 ounces left, should last a few more months. $50 for a years worth of good protectant is not bad in my book.

The pressure washer at the local hydraspray seems to remove the mud from mine.

On my TJ I washed the top and when it tried the mud spots came back. I pressure washed it and when it dried they came back, less obvious but they came back. I got a vinyl top cleaner and I scrubbed the hell out of it, then pressure washed it. That got rid of the stains in most places, with the cleaner and "elbow grease" it got rid of the spots. Me and a friend scrubbed the top for over an hour and it was rough... we were sore the next day. I guess the Jeep doesn't think anyone goes in the mud with their soft top up. Next time I will try to clean the top as soon as possible instead of leaving it dirty for a couple weeks.

If your top is black....this applies to you.

I've had great success using a product called "Back to Black" made by Mothers.
It has an oily feel to it upon application, but after you lightly buff it, it actually softens, cleans, and protects the top with no residue (I am not on their payroll!!!) Also, it doesn't drip off, or after getting wet doesn't cooze on your paint.
I also use this on my fender flares, which are also notorious for holding a stain.
I found this product at Wally-World for 5 bucks per container.
I swear by this stuff.
Cleans the mud stain right off!

Hope that helps!
