Muddy clutch
Hi guys. I was gonna see if I could get some help. I have an 07 x 6 speed and the other night I sunk it in water and mud over the tires(33"s). I did use the clutch not knowing about the vent on the trans. I had to get someone to pull me out and it drove fine to the house. However the next day I go to leave and the clutch won't engage. I started it in gear with clutch pressed and it took off as if my foot wasn't on the pedal. Do you guys think my clutch is toast or is this a bleeding issue? Thanks in advance.

I would say it's toast or you reduced the life of the clutch in 1/2. Just a hint for next time...always run in 4LO before you enter water/mud holes as you can restart your motor without depressing the clutch!
Hopefully your clutch survived. I went through the same thing in my 07 a few years back. Clutch was ok but the throw-out bearing failed shortly afterward.
Chance's are the fingers on your pressure plate that separates the clutch from the flywheel are full of mud and small rocks and can't actuate.
This is going to suck but climb under there with a hose and spray the inside of your bell hosing as much as you can though that vent in the bottom.
Try and get the mud out before it turns solid. Shift your transfer case to neutral and run it for a minute to loosen the crud up then rinse again and again.
You might save yourself a $1,000 clutch repair.
good luck man.

Thanks a lot! I sprayed underneath earlier in the front of bell and rear where slave mounts. Letting it dry some before I try it out. The tob was chirping anyways so if I have to pull it out it's not that big of a deal. Just bad timing with funds right now.
Just an update, my slave cylinder was full of grit when I pulled it apart. I cleaned and greased the piston, reassembled, bled the system, she's working like a charm for now. Thanks guys for the advice though. Beer time🍻

Cool! Glad to hear it works again.
Mine still had plenty of clutch plate left but the TOB bearing must have gotten some sand in it so it screamed non stop all the way to the dealer.
If it's just a chirp and not a constant squeal your TOB may still last awhile. I put another 50k on that clutch plate before trading her in for a 2012.
Prefer beers that come in a can, see you on the trail.
