Default Muffler Heat Shield

I have done searching not only here but other forums and only see one fix for this heat shield and that is to add washers to the studs coming from the bottom of the floor to hold the shield in. I have done that twice and it still falls and rattles all over. I am assuming its function is to keep the "trunk" from getting too hot so I am thinking of pulling that shield and installing adhesive heat shield material like this Thermo Tec/48 x 72 in. one side foil thermo guard FR heat shield (14120) | Heat Shield Material | AutoZone.com on the inside of the tub. Does anyone see a reason this might be a huge no-no?

Have you tried just bending it slightly with a pry bar?
