Default Muffler Recommendations

I want to get a new muffler for the jeep. I think the sounds of the JK without the muffler is decent. Is it bad for the engine not to have the muffler? if it is bad for it, i am willing to get an aftermarket. What aftermarket mufflers do you recommend?

Well. There is an exhaust clip thread around.

I recently made a youtube video on my MBRP and AirRaid CAI paired.

I do not think the JK will run efficient without the muffler. Over time you're going to see problems.

I like cat back systems because you can install them in 30 minutes in your driveway, so you may pay more but you save in labor (unless you are a welder)

I like my MBRP off road cat back exhaust but there are many others.......

30 mins would have to be a world wide record.

You might also check the one that Woods has on his site (he's a vendor here). Supposed to be a pretty decent setup.

I'm going to have agree with racinjimy, super easy to put in 30 min tops with the help from the older brother. you can put up one from northridge under $300 plus free shipping.

I paid a muffler guy to hack the suitcase off and install a small 4" magnaflow muffler. Cold start is a little loud but the rest of the time its fine. Especially as it builds up carbon deposits.

I would compare my solution to MBRP off-road cat-back.

Anyway. its an easy solution to get more sound and gain some clearance in the back. Also its about 1/4 of the price (if not more) than every other catback out there.

I would take some videos but I don't own a video camera.

Mine was welded on so I don't know what you would need. :(
