I don't think there is room to relocate the factory muffler, but many have purchased after markets and put them under the driver's side.

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe I saw a thread on the evo double throw down rear coil overs where they move the stock muffler can to the drivers side to make room for the kit. I'd have to do some searching (might even be when WOL had it installed) I'm not sure though.

I picked up a Dynomax muffler and installed it under my driver's side. Cut out the stock muffler and a 20" section of pipe w/ a sawzall. Two band clamps and you're done!

The stock muffler looks like a 'beer keg' it's so big, I added a Magnaflow cat-back and the muffler was 1/2 the size and tucked up out of the way. no relocate needed.

trying to keep the sound similar, how does the magnaflow or dynomax compare
does it change anything to the way the jeep performs due to changing the muffler and/or its location....

I have the mbrp, love it, great sound and definitely no performance loss, and it's well out of harms way

i installed a powerflow...similar to the magnaflow...
it's much neater than stock...and you can route it as you like...
as for the sound...you can choose how much to muffle your 'note'...

I was thinking about doing the same, but was worried how much it would cost me to be installed and welded. Price will be close to the cat system. I'm still up in the air tho. Cat back or custom? How does it sound? That was another reason why I was leaning towards the cat back.

I did the install myself, and used band clamps instead of having it welded in. I used the same muffler that is included in the Dynomax "Rockcrawler" system - just without the new exhaust pipe.

Took me about 45 minutes. I can get pics later, if need be.
