I have a seat belt cover on the door armrest- it works ok but fortunately I drive doorless most of the summer. I recently installed the Rugged Ridge console armrest. Although it's thicker than it needs to be, I like it.

I bought a $3 black mousepad at Target and stuck it on the center console with double sided tape to keep the dog from sliding around (more grip) and scratching the console to heck. He likes to put his front paws up there and look out the front. Works good and I guess kinda cushy on the elbow too. Perfect size and cheap.

Goto a sporting goods supplier & buy a pair of elbow pads for 12 bucks. No glue or tape or installation to alter the jeep. Leave them on the back seat & reuse as needed.

The seat belt cover works great on the door arm rests.

It's young whippersnappers like you that make it so hard on us old-timers!

It's not so much the gentle settling of the arm on the door or center console when you are running the long, smooth highway. It's for when you take the rig out for what it's meant to do best - wheeling! My wife smacked her elbows several times on the door and center console when an unexpected bump was encountered (they're ALL expected by me!). The Misch products solved that problem very well.

Yup. Mine looked like t-total chit after 10-12 days of the top off. I would think just a little more UV stability wouldn't be asking too much considering what this costs.

I can't recommend this product.

I just replaced my center console with the Tuffy Security Insert and wondered why it took me 16K miles to do so. Steel, bigger, better lock, and comes with an upholstered pad on top. Took about an hour to install and very nice.
