Default Name That Connector

I just installed a reman long block in my '08 Rubicon. Everything plugged in as it should except for one, female connector. It's on the left side, just behind the headlight. It's a 2-prong connector. I don't see anything in the vicinity that it would connect to.

The Jeep runs great, but I have a P0340 and P0344 as well as an air bag light. Unfortunately I don't think this connector is related to either issue.

You got another picture of the other end of that connector? The black part I mean? Is the connector itself just the blue part? Almost looks like the Blue part is the actual connector and that maybe it's still plugged in to whatever that black part is. The black part with the metal tip looks like some sort of sensor maybe?

Here's a pic of the end of it. One side looks pretty corroded which makes me wonder if it was ever plugged into anything. I also put up a better pic of the general area - it's in that yellow circle area

Maybe the connector for the optional hood opened/closed sensor switch?

Look for a connection for it to plug into on your A/C Compressor. Looks like it might be for the clutch control on the compressor, assuming you have A/C. If not, maybe that explains why it doesn't look like it's ever been plugged in.

Edit: Never mind what I said above... I think ronjenx is right.

Forget what I said. I think ronjenx nailed it. See if the attached link works for you. Looks like the hood ajar connector is exactly what it is...

Thanks both! I think that must be it. I don't have a hood switch so it must have just been dangling there the whole time.

I can scratch that off the list. Need to clear the codes and I can stick a fork in this one.
