Need advice, bummed out codes P2586 and P0302
I am need of advice: yesterday on my way home from work I got the dreaded CEL. There was no change in performance on the remainder of my 20 miles home. This morning I ran the diagnostic routine (key on-off 3 times) and got the code P2586 and the dreaded P0302. I know from the forums that the P0302 could and possible does mean my heads are on the way out but I can't figure out the first code it throws P2586, does anyone have an idea what this could be. Since my warranty is out, I have 42,000 mile on my ruby how much does it typically cost to get the problem repaired. Thanks guys for you help and advice

Are you sure you got a code p2xxx. I am pretty sure the first number after the letter is either a 0 or 1. The p0302 code could just be your number 2 spark plug. Check the plug first

Yes I am 100% sure of the code P2586 that pops up followed by P0302. I looked all over the web and couldn't find any info regarding it. I tried to run my scan tool on it but it wouldn't link so I am going to buy a newer model today and re-read the codes. I'll check the plug and see what I can learn. Thanks for replying.

p2586
Alright, took my jeep to the dealership. They did not have the code in their records either. They sent an email to chrysler star and Chrysler told them to check the one way valve connected to the vacuum pump many relocate when the install a front bumper on a '12 and up. The one way valve was facing the wrong way. Apparently I (we) reinstalled the valve the wrong way after relocation.
